For use with the Secondary I Y1 C5 theme of Interdependence

Completing the full continuum of ecosystems, habitats, biomes, and where they are found on the various continents, which began with the early childhood material on biomes, this set of items addresses two basic concepts. The identification of the various ecosystems on the continents, and how these ecosystems and the communities of life forms that inhabit those ecosystems are interdependent, and how we are interconnected to the resources that are currently available on earth.

Understanding the interconnectedness between ecosystems, humans, and the resources we need to protect is essential in understanding the complex relationships that exist between these elements. The health and functioning of ecosystems directly affect human well-being, as they provide us with essential resources such as food, water, and clean air. However, human activities can also have negative impacts on ecosystems, such as pollution and habitat destruction, which in turn can harm our own health and livelihoods. Therefore, it is crucial to examine the interdependent relationships between ecosystems, humans, and resources to ensure that we protect these essential systems for the benefit of both the natural world and us.
