Effective September 1, 2026

Dear ETC Montessori Community,

For more than 20 years, ETC Montessori has worked to create thoughtful, rigorous educational materials that support Montessori families, guides, schools, and teacher education programs. As our collection of downloadable materials continues to grow, we want every customer to understand what is included with a digital purchase, which license is appropriate, and how the download process works.

These policies allow us to offer digital materials at fair prices while protecting the work involved in researching, writing, illustrating, and developing each resource. They also help prevent accidental copyright violations and ensure that individual families and larger educational organizations are licensed equitably.

Choosing the Correct License

ETC Montessori offers two license options for most digital products: an Individual License and an Extended License.

Purchasing a digital product grants permission to use the material under the selected license. It does not transfer ownership of the file or its copyrights.

Individual License Extended License
Intended for one individual homeschool purchaser Intended for a school, homeschool co-op, or multi-family homeschool group
Covers educational use within one household Covers internal educational use within one licensed school building, co-op, or identified group
May be used with children residing in the purchaser’s household May be used by authorized teachers, staff members, or participating households within the licensed organization
May not be shared with another family, teacher, classroom, school, co-op, or organization May be shared internally only with authorized users associated with the licensed school or group
May not be placed on a school or shared organizational network May be stored on a restricted internal system accessible only to authorized users covered by the license

Individual License

An Individual License is designed specifically for an individual homeschool purchaser using the material within one household.

The purchaser may download and save the file, print reasonable copies for personal educational use, and use the material with children residing in that household.

An Individual License does not permit the digital file or printed materials to be shared with another household, family, tutor, teacher, classroom, school, homeschool co-op, or organization. A teacher or administrator purchasing material for use in a classroom or school must select an Extended License, even when the purchase is made using a personal email address or personal payment method.

Extended License

An Extended License is required when a digital product will be used by:

  • A school;
  • A classroom or group of classrooms within one school building;
  • A homeschool co-op;
  • A multi-family homeschool group; or
  • A similar educational organization.

An Extended License covers one school located in one physical building, one homeschool co-op, or one identified multi-family homeschool group. Authorized teachers, staff members, and participating families may use the material internally as reasonably necessary for the licensed educational program.

An Extended License is not automatically district-wide, organization-wide, franchise-wide, or multi-campus. Each separate school building, campus, branch, or independently operating group must purchase its own Extended License.

For example, if a district plans to use a digital product in five school buildings, it must purchase five Extended Licenses—one for each building.

Neither license permits files to be publicly posted, resold, sublicensed, emailed to unrelated individuals, uploaded to unrestricted websites or shared drives, or used to create products for sale or distribution.

If you are uncertain which license applies to your situation, please contact us at support@edutc.com before purchasing. We will be glad to help you select the correct option.

An Important Change to Download Access

Beginning September 1, 2026, customers will be responsible for downloading and securely saving purchased digital content within the access period provided with the order.

After a paid digital order is marked Complete and download access is activated:

  • The files will remain available for five consecutive calendar days.
  • Each purchased file may be downloaded no more than two times during that period.
  • The download link will expire after five calendar days or after both downloads have been used, whichever occurs first.
  • Download access cannot be paused, extended, renewed, or restarted after it expires.

We understand how busy a school day or homeschool week can become. For that reason, we encourage customers to download their files as soon as the order is completed and save them in a secure location with a reliable backup.

Once the five-day period has expired—or both permitted downloads have been used—the responsibility for retaining the purchased content rests with the customer. ETC Montessori will no longer reactivate expired links, resend files, or replace files that were not downloaded, were misplaced, or were deleted. A new copy will require repurchasing the product.

This policy is not intended to create difficulty for our customers. It establishes a consistent process for protecting licensed content and administering an expanding digital catalog fairly. If a download link does not function or a file appears corrupted, please contact support@edutc.com promptly and before the access period expires so that we can investigate.

The expiration of the download link does not end a properly purchased license for a file that was successfully downloaded and saved. You may continue using the retained file according to the license originally purchased.

Digital Orders Submitted Using a Purchase Order

ETC Montessori does not accept a purchase order as payment for digital content. A purchase order represents an authorization or promise to pay; it is not cleared payment and does not create an immediate right to access downloadable files.

If a school or school district submits an order for digital products and designates that the order will be paid using a purchase order:

  1. The order will remain in Pending or Processing status.
  2. Download links will not be activated while payment remains outstanding.
  3. Full payment must be mailed to:

ETC Montessori
904 Chisos Street
Webster, Texas 77598

The payment should include the ETC Montessori order number or sufficient identifying information so that it can be applied to the correct order.

After payment has been received by our office and the check has cleared, we will change the order status to Complete. The end user will then receive access to the purchased files.

The five-day download period does not begin when the purchase order is submitted. It begins only after:

  • Payment has been received;
  • The check has cleared;
  • The order has been marked Complete; and
  • The download links have been activated.

Once access is activated, the standard five-day period and two-download limit apply. Schools and districts should therefore identify the person responsible for receiving the completed-order notice, downloading the files promptly, and storing them securely.

Digital Purchases Are Final

Because digital products provide access to copyrighted content that cannot be physically returned, completed digital-product purchases are final, non-returnable, and non-refundable, except where otherwise required by law.

Refunds, replacement files, or credits will not be provided because a customer selected the incorrect license, did not download the files during the access period, used both permitted downloads, misplaced or deleted a downloaded file, or expected a physical product.

Please review the product description, file format, license selection, and included materials carefully before completing your purchase.

Thank You for Supporting Our Work
