The First Great Lesson is where Cosmic Education begins—with a story large enough to awaken wonder and questions big enough to lead children into years of exploration. The Creation of the Universe Bundle brings together six complementary Montessori resources designed to help ages 6–9 explore the origins of the universe, our solar system, the Moon, Earth’s place in space, and the many ways human cultures have sought to explain creation.
Beginning with the Timeline of the Creation of the Universe, children gain a visual sense of cosmic history and the immense passage of time from the beginnings of the universe forward. The Giant Solar System Line provides a natural follow-up, extending the lesson into a linear study of our solar system, while Phases of the Moon introduces the eight lunar phases through classified nomenclature, matching work, and hands-on pieces.
The Level 6–9 Impressionistic Charts deepen the experience with memorable visual presentations related to astronomy and physical geography, supported by teacher text, research cards, and experiments. To broaden the child's perspective beyond scientific explanations, the bundle also includes World Creation Stories representing cultures from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania, along with Native American Creation Stories from eight cultural traditions. Together, these resources create opportunities to explore science, history, geography, culture, storytelling, and humanity's enduring desire to understand where we came from.
