Payment-card information is generally collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processors. ETC may receive transaction status, card type, expiration information, and limited transaction details, but we do not intend to store complete payment-card numbers or card security codes.

Where required by applicable law and supported by our website technology, we will treat a legally recognized browser-based opt-out signal, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out for the browser or device sending the signal.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Please describe the right you wish to exercise and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant records.

We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. Verification information will be used only to evaluate and respond to the request. We will not require you to create a new account solely to exercise a privacy right.

An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law. We may require evidence of the agent’s authority and may ask you to verify your identity directly with us.

We will respond within the period required by applicable law. This is commonly 45 days for requests under certain U.S. state privacy laws, although an extension may be permitted when reasonably necessary.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our website and online store are intended for adults, including parents, teachers, school administrators, and other purchasers. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Individuals under 18 should not create an account or make a purchase without the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, contact legal@edutc.com. We will investigate and delete the information when required.

12. Student and School Records

ETC’s standard online store and digital products are not designed for customers to submit identifiable student records.

Do not include student names, student identification numbers, education records, health information, disability information, or similar student data in an order, review, support request, or other submission unless ETC has specifically requested the information and an appropriate written agreement is in place.

Purchasing instructional materials from ETC does not, by itself, appoint ETC as a school official or authorize ETC to process education records under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

13. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to:

• Complete transactions and provide purchased products;
• Maintain accounts and digital-product license records;
• Provide customer service;
• Meet tax, accounting, warranty, and recordkeeping obligations;

Retention periods vary according to the type of information, the nature of our relationship with you, legal requirements, and operational needs.

If you unsubscribe from marketing, we may retain limited information on a suppression list so that we can honor your request. Information stored in backup systems may remain until those backups are overwritten or deleted through ordinary retention processes.
