Introducing young children aged 3-6 to the major biomes of the world can be a fun and engaging way to broaden their knowledge and curiosity about the natural world. One approach is to use pictures, dioramas, objects, beginning nomenclature and ideas that showcase the various biomes such as the desert, polar, rainforest, temperate, and marine.
Designed to use age-appropriate language and simple concepts to explain the unique characteristics of each biome. Using this material children can pursue further open-ended activities such as drawing and coloring pictures of animals found in each biome and beginning research projects. All aimed to further help them learn about the diverse ecosystems on our planet.
Our goal is to provide opportunities for children to be introduced to the major biomes of the world, to inspire a love of nature and encourage them to become stewards of the environment.
This module deals specifically with the temperate biome. It is accompanied by our specially designed diorama, constructed of premium 1/8" acrylic. The backdrop of the biome portrays a very characteristic environment while the floor panel shows a typical ground of that biome. This diorama is easy to assemble and provides a unique placement for the accompanying figures, while building awareness.
Each animal has been carefully chosen for accuracy and size to avoid any possibility of choking hazards. Items meet the standards and are tested in accordance with the cpsc.gov requirements using a choking tube.
The set includes the following:
