This Geography Classified Nomenclature module deals with the general concepts of Parts and Types of Valleys.

The module includes:

River Valley: Learn about long, narrow depressions carved by rivers or streams.
Glacial Valley: Discover U-shaped valleys formed by glacial movements.
Canyon: Study large, narrow valleys with steep slopes.
Vale: Explore broad, level valleys containing streams or brooks.
Valley Head: Understand the upper end of a valley, often the river's source.
Walls: Learn about the steep side boundaries of valleys that slope with age.
Floor: Discover the horizontal ground surface of a valley.
Mouth: Study where valley walls level into plains or meet bodies of water.
Gorge: Explore young valleys with steep, nearly vertical walls.
Precipice: Understand the edge of steep, high cliffs.
Ravine: Learn about long, narrow depressions leading to valleys.

Booklets and wall charts are not included in the homeschool version. The three-part card format includes control cards, which children can use to match labels and pictures. If desired, these control cards can be bound and used as booklets. We have opted to exclude booklets and wall charts to make the homeschool edition more cost-effective.
