The Scientific Pour Activity at first view might seem like another transfer activity. However, it is intended to go further by introducing young children to a variety of scientific ideas first of which is the conservation of volume. Children can then be introduced to the scientific process with experimentation as they become familiar with beakers and graduated cylinders. The ultimate goal is to allow children experimentation, discovery of volume related facts, and ultimately the STEM approach.
Beginning Exploration: It takes two fills of the 50 ml beaker to fill the 100 ml beaker. The one 100 ml beaker will then fill the 100 ml graduated cylinder. Shapes vary, volume is constant.
The set comes complete and ready to put on the shelf. It contains:
- One 100 ml graduated cylinder
- One 100 ml beaker
- One 50 ml beaker
- One plastic tray
- One anti-skid liner
