Product Overview

May be used in Secondary Y1 C1 & C3: Connections & Identity.

While the eastern world was experiencing a flourishing of culture, literature, and liberty, the Native Americans were struggling to survive. While others were seeking ways to advance in society, the Native Americans were witnessing their children being taken by the U.S. Government to be "Americanized." This timeline traces the struggles of the Native Americans, providing students with a genuine understanding of human rights and the challenges that these proud individuals faced to uphold them.

Please note that this timeline is designed for upper elementary to middle school students and employs period-specific language and accepted terminology from historical documents and quotes. To maintain the accuracy of the period and provide an authentic representation, we have not altered the language or terminology from the original text. Otherwise, we refer to Indigenous people as Native Americans in our own writing and not derived from original text.

The timescale on this timeline is the same as our Timeline of American History (STL-029), allowing you to use both timelines to view cause and effect relationships.

As with all our timelines this too is constructed from material that does not need to be laminated. This timeline will stand up to more than just the wear of everyday use. Constructed from specialized paper it is 100% waterproof, chemical spill resistant, UV protected against fading, tear and crease resistant.
